Thanks to Public Action For The Arts and Education the Nazzaro Center in the North End is able to sustain a thriving Arts program for ten(10) years.

Under the direction of Josephine Lepore, Arts Teacher, the center offers children instruction in drawing (pencil. Black and white, charcoal), painting and other projects.

Approximately fifty (50) students participated in various Arts projects throughout the year starting in September and ending in May.

At the end of the year, all students Art Work are judged by members of the PAAE Board. Prizes are given to the students after being selected by the Judges.

We would like to thank Board Members Jeanne Baretta and Robert Nolan who served as Judges at the year’s PAAE event.

The Nazzaro Center of the North End and Public Action for Arts & Education of Boston, recently completed it’s “ Tenth Annual Arts Contest” for After School Children. “ The program involved over 40 boys and girls ages five to fourteen”.

The Arts Projects start in September and are completed in May. Upon completion the judges evaluate the works of Art, award prizes for children in various age categories including honorable mention in each division.

The judges for this competition are members of PAAE and included Joseph Hill, President of PAAE, Alan Rouleau, Board Member, and Richard D’Amore of Northbridge Capital.

The art director of the Nazzaro Center, Josephine Lepore, for the past fifteen (15) years presided over the awards ceremony. “We are appreciative to be benefactors of PAAE’s donations and their commitment to helping children.” Mrs. Lepore said “Without PAAE’s continued support and involvement we would not be able to bring the arts to as many children as possible.”
